Game 1
Dodgers 5 - Cubs 4

The Dodgers took advantage of some clutch relief pitching and timely hitting to outlast the Cubs 5-4 in the season opener. Keith Neuberger got out of a bases loaded, no outs jam in the 3rd to hold the Cubs to a 1-0 lead. Pete Loizzo Doubled with one out in the 4th and later scored on an error to tie the game at 1. The Dodgers took advantage of an error, 4 walks and a 2 out double by Loizzo to stretch the lead to 5-1 in their half of the 5th. Robb Harris cut the Dodger lead to 5-4 with a 3 run home run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th. Dodger closer Matt Weaver held off the Cub rally by striking out the final batter he faced to save the victory over the heavily favored Cubs.

The Dodgers return to action on Friday evening with a 6:15 tilt against the National League powerhouse Giants.
