Giants 4 - Dodgers 2
The Dodgers were dealt their first loss Saturday 4-2 at the hands of the Giants. The Dodgers continued to struggle offensively, scratching out 4 hits after having only 2 in the season opener. Similar to the opener, the Dodgers dug themselves a hole in the first inning misplaying a couple of routine fly balls that gave the Giants their first run of the game. The Dodgers stranded 2 base runners in their half of the first inning after a leadoff double by Keith Neuberger and Tanner Davis being hit by a pitch.
The Giants added to their lead in the 4th with a pair of singles, one by Ross Biely who later scored on a wild pitch. They concluded their scoring with a pair of runs in the 5th after 3 of the first 4 batters walked and Giants third baseman Sam Scharenbrock singled to left.
The Dodgers made a gallant effort in their half of the 6th. They scored twice and had the bases loaded when Trevor Foss ripped a liner down the third base line that was just foul. Foss was eventually retired on a foul tip. Brian Crawford flew out to center field to end the game.
The Dodger hope to regain their winning ways on Wednesday May 16th at 4:30 when they take on the Mighty Cardinals, the only remaining undefeated team in the National League.
