Game 4
Dodgers 11 - Braves 5

The Little League Dodgers joined the Cubs atop the National League leader board Friday night after beating the Braves 11-5. Matt Weaver, Sam Markham, Cam Hanson, and Chris Petranek led the Dodger attack with 2 hits apiece. Pete Loizzo made the best of his lone hit, a 2 out, 2 run triple in the second
that rattled the centerfield fence. Loizzo also forced in a run in the 4th with a bases loaded walk. It was feast or famine for the Braves pitchers who
struck out 11, but gave up 13 hits.

The Dodger pitching staff overcame some shaky defense and partisan adjudications, limiting the Braves to 7 hits, 2 hit batters and a walk. Matt Weaver turned in another strong pitching performance striking out 5 in 2 innings of work. Cam Hanson closed the game, making his first appearance of the year on the mound striking out the final 2 batters after giving up a one out single.

The Dodgers' inter-league contest scheduled for next Tuesday night, May 22nd has been canceled. The Dodgers' roster will be drastically depleted on that date due to the annual mandatory, momentous Middle School glee club recital. The game will be re-scheduled later in the season. The Dodgers will complete the first round of league play on Saturday, May 26th at 9:00 a.m. against the Phillies.
