Game 5
Phillies 1 - Dodgers 0

Poor execution and a return of their offensive woes doomed the National League co-leader Dodgers as they dropped the first game of a double header 1-0 to the Phillies. Dodger starter Tanner Davis walked Phillie leadoff man John Zillman in the first inning. Zillman later scored after advancing on 2 wild pitches and a botched pick-off play. Davis settled down and struck out the side, but that pretty much set the tone for the Dodgers who missed 5 signs in the final 3 innings, and struck out 10 times in the game.

The Dodgers best scoring opportunity came in the 2nd when Trevor Foss led the inning off with the Dodgers lone hit of the game, a single off the glove of Phillie 3rd baseman Zach Bayreuther. Matt Weaver followed with a walk, but league MVP candidate Matt McCulloch retired the next 3 Dodgers to get out of the jam. The Dodgers had only one other runner in scoring position the rest of the way.
