Dodgers 9 - Giants 1
The Little
League Dodgers avenged their first loss of the season Tuesday night beating
the Giants 9-1. Trevor Foss delivered the big blow for the Dodgers, hitting
a 3 run triple with 2 outs in the bottom of the first. On the same play, Foss
scored on a throwing error. Cam Hanson scored the final run of the inning.
Hanson walked, stole second, advanced to third when the ball skipped into
centerfield, and eventually scored on a wild pitch. The Dodgers scored all
5 runs in the inning with two outs. Sam Markham had a 2 RBI double in the
second inning to push the Dodger cushion to 7-1.
Trevor Foss was the story of the day for the Dodgers. The Dodger backstop
followed up his first inning triple with a triple in the third, and a double
in the fifth. Foss scored after all 3 trips to the plate. Foss also made his
first mound appearance of the year, striking out 5 in two innings of work.
The Dodgers pulled even with the Cubs atop the league leader board after the
Cubs lost to the Braves in what will probably be one of the better played
games of the year. The Braves outlasted the Cubs 2-1 in nine innings. The
game featured some outstanding pitching and defense by both teams.
Friday night, the Dodgers hope to get out to a lightening quick start against
the Indians who have been taking the American League by storm.
