Dodgers 14 - Indians 1
PHANTOM BOLT STRIKES DODGERS!
The Dodgers
appeared to be on their way to a rain shortened victory against the Indians
Friday night when they were struck by the unlikeliest of adversaries. The
Dodgers were up 4-0 in the top of the fourth when the skies darkened and rain
started sprinkling. With 4 games going on in the 18 acre complex, an Indian
coach pulled his team off of the field after saying he saw lightning. Bewildered
fans sat in the stands, and both teams sat in the dugouts for 15 minutes while
all other games in the complex continued. The skies opened up and washed out
the game 5 outs short of making it an official game. League rules require
all games be suspended 20 minutes at the sight of lightning. Little League
games are official when 4 innings of play have been completed.
The game will be resumed from where it left off. The Dodgers have a runner
on firs (this summary will be completed in 20 minutes, I just saw lightning!)
Part
2
In what was probably their best performance of the year, the Dodgers thrashed
the Indians 14-1 Saturday while making up a game that had been called earlier
in the week due to lightning. The Dodgers lead 4-0 at the time the game was
called.
The score remained 4-0 until the visiting Dodgers scored 10 runs in the top of the 6th. The Dodgers nearly batted around twice in the inning sending 15 batters to the plate. Nick Dawald drove in a run with an infield single, the first of 5 consecutive hits for the Dodgers in the inning. Cam Hanson pitched the final inning for the Dodgers making his second impressive pitching performance in as many outings this year.
