Dodgers 11 - Twins 8
Matt Weaver bounced back from a shaky outing against the Cardinals to pitch 3 strong innings for the Dodgers in the Dodgers 11-8 victory over the Twins on Saturday. Weaver faced 2 over the minimum, out striking 4 and walking only 1. Pete Loizzo, Keith Neuberger and Tanner Davis finished up the mound duties for the Dodgers each pitching a single inning.
Neuberger and Sam Markham led the Dodgers on the offensive end with 2 hits a piece and both scoring 1 run. Twins' pitcher Marcus Moser uncharacteristically ran into control trouble in the third, issuing 7 free passes to the Dodgers in an inning that proved to be the difference in the game. However, the hard throwing right hander also struck out 7 in his 3 innings of work. The Dodgers got contributions throughout their order with nine different players scoring runs.
The Dodgers ride their winning wave into a Tuesday contest against the Phillies, a team that handed the Dodgers a 1-0 loss in the 5th game of the season. A win for the Dodgers would send them around into the third leg of league play with still only a 1 game lead over the Cubs.
